The “White Kanye” nickname ends now
December 13, 2024: Vanderpump Rules star James Kennedy, formally known as DJ James Kennedy, was arrested on a misdemeanor domestic violence charge on December 10, according to Burbank police. TMZ reports a witness saw Kennedy and a woman arguing, “with the reality TV star allegedly grabbing her at one point,” around 11:30 p.m. That night, he and his girlfriend and VPR breakout, Ally Lewber, reportedly attended Kathy Hilton’s holiday party, but it’s unconfirmed whether Lewber was involved in the incident. TMZ added that Kennedy posted $20,000 bail (approximately one Rachella) and was released. The Burbank City Attorney’s office is reviewing the case.
Every Bravo viewer with an ounce of empathy wondered what would become of the No. [redacted] guy now that VPR season 12 is getting a brand-new cast. Lala Kent, Scheana Shay, Brock Davies, and even Tom Schwartz are featured in the next installment of The Valley. Maybe season three can make its way over to the airport.
Ally is out
January 22, 2025: James Kennedy won’t face charges for domestic violence, TMZ reports. The Burbank City Attorney’s Office declined to file charges, according to Kennedy’s lawyer. Ally Lewber commented on the news on Instagram stories. “I am happy that prosecutors decided not to file charges against James, as I never desired criminal charges,” she wrote. “We had an argument outside of his home related to him drinking again, however, I was not physically hurt.” She confirmed in the same Story that she and Kennedy had broken up. “We are no longer together,” she wrote, “but I’ll always support James and wish him the best with his sobriety and healing.”
